Ever Missed a Deadline? Make Sure Your Calendar Has a Backup by Liza Bobo

{1:30 minutes to read} In order for any law practice to be a success, the foundation must be strong. An attorney’s foundation includes the obvious, like knowledge of courtroom rules, appellate division, etc. Yet, no practice can function well without the use of a calendar.

Each individual will have a preferred calendar modality. Most likely, attorneys will use some form of an email calendar that transcends various devices (phone, laptop, tablet, etc.). Some of the calendars available are free and some are available for purchase. (I personally use Outlook, because I find the format and options of the pop-up reminders particularly useful).

Attorneys should also be aware that there are services that can help track cases once filed at the court. Attorneys will receive alerts when the case has been docketed for argument, when the decision is rendered, etc. However, no app, calendar or individual is infallible—it is always good to have a backup.

Appellate Innovations provides a variety of services designed to assist attorneys in keeping track of everything that is important to a particular case. In addition to serving and filing Records on Appeal/Appendices and Briefs in State and Federal Courts, as well as the United States Supreme Court, we notify our clients in specific courts for argument dates and times and decisions.

Appellate Innovations and the attorney’s office work as a team to ensure that crucial deadlines are not missed. Contact us today if you’d like more information about our services.
